Bmw E60 Idrive Software Update Download Manually
Sep 18, 2012 Does anyone know how to do the software updates yourself without going to dealers or independant?Took my car for diagnostic and the said it needed 8 hours of updates, I opted to have gearbox, fuel pump and engine updates done only, whick cost me 1.5 hrs labour for 20 mins of updates.They used Aut. Nov 06, 2014 Just registered on this forum because I will find the answer how I can update idrive on my bmw f10 520d 2010. There is no option in my car on IDRIVE in SETTINGSSOFTWARE UPDATE. My last option in SETTINGS is PROFILES. We got the file download option. I want to update I drive because there are a lot significant improvement of BT software.

I went to the dealer to get my car serviced and I asked them if I needed a software update because I read in some forums that it greatly improves E60 idle, performance, and gas mileage, especially for the 550i and 545i. I am no longer under warranty. They wanted to charge me $265 with tax to reprogram the car with the new software. Shouldn't the dealer reprogram the car with its updated software even though its out of warranty? Especially if I am paying about $600 for service?
